Solar Electric Systems are systems designed to create electricity from sunlight
and channel the electricity to the home system, in coordination with the Israel
Electric Company (Hevrat Hashmal).Solari's
energy systems sell excess energy directly to the Israel Electric Compay
eliminating the need for battery storage.As an incentive to the
consumer, the Israel Electric Company purchases solar electricity at a higher
tariff than it charges the consumer for electricity.
The Solari
company installs systems manufactured by the French
company, Photowatt.
§The Solari system includes
the following components:
Currently a homeowner pays the Israel
Electric Company approximately 0.50 NIS
per kwh for electricity used.According
to the new guidelines, a homeowner will be credited 2.04 NIS per kilowatt hour
(kwh) of solar electricity produced.This arrangement allows an average return on investment of 9-12 years.The special tariff applies to all solar electricity produced and not
just the surplus.
Technical Information:
Solar electric systems are measured by units of KWP – kilowatts
peak –each kwp:
·produces approximately 1700 kwh per year.
·Requires 10 square meters of roof space.
·With the new tariffs produces electricity worth approximately
3,400nis
·Can be connected to a single phase or triple phase system
Warrantees and Maintenance:
Grid Connected
Solar Electric Systems have no batteries or moving parts and thus have very
limited maintenance needs.The photovoltaic cell modules carry a 25 year
warrantee.The remaining parts carry a 5
year warrantee (according to the conditions of the warrantees).
Solar
Electricity and New Construction:
We recommended including the solar electric system in the house
plans.Proper planning of the system can
maximize directions of the sun and wind and will simplify installation.For existing homes, the system will be
installed in the optimal position, taking into account the direction of the
sun, shade and aesthetics.In most cases
the area required for modules is between 10 and 30 square meters.
